3 reasons:
1. Saving is better than wasting in most cases.
2. Production of energy usually consume fossil fuels with bad effects on the environment.
3. Most sources of energy are based, in a large part, on imports from foreign countries, some of which are not the sweetest places, by wasting energy you donate money to these countries.

At the moment our many source of energy is formed by converting chemical energy(oil) to electric. Its cheap and efficient however we are running out of electricity. We can convert more energy from other sources eg wind, sun, nuclear etc. However these are expensive, sometimes dangerous (nuclear) and not very efficent.

U have missed most of the beauty of the system on the earth. There are several things that the life cycle is a complete circle. For instance Mady we will run out of fuel wrong it is part of a cycle. A good example is we burn gasoline in our car and a large part of the emissions are CO2 which is absorbed by plants and converted back to oxygen and it repeats over and over. will we run out of fuel???
