well.,theres a possibility, but i have Had 2 gals and 3 boys, the first boy was conceived,by the father of the child entering me from the back, but the rest,of the 2 boys and 2 gals.,were through normal sex,the traditional way,so i will stick to the OVULATION THEORY,of sex in the begging of ovulation for boys and during or after to conceive a gal

Oh not more old wives tales!!!
To conceive a boy a sperm with a Y chromosome has to fertilise the egg. For a girl it has to be a sperm with an X chromosome. Thats all there is to it. There is no way you can plan this unless you have a "designer" baby conceived by IVF.
There is some evidence that you can up the chances of having a baby of a particular gender by when you have sex. As Y chromosome sperm swim faster than X chromosome sperm but don't live as long, you need to have sex as close as possible to the day the woman ovulates (she will need to use ovulation predictor kits or monitor her temperature and body signs to ascertain this). For a girl you should have sex a few days before ovulation and then abstain, so the Y sperm die off and only the X sperm are left.
Get a book called "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Wechsler - it explains about ovulation monitoring and the best times to have sex to conceive a boy or girl.
But you still can't guarantee getting a girl or a boy. You can only slightly "up" the chances.
Anything about different sex positions, eating certain foods, wearing boxer shorts, having sex on a Monday hanging upside down blah blah is rubbish, old wives tales and does NOT work!!! Yes there will always be someone who says that they tried an old wives tale out and it worked for them (ie rough sex = boy) but that doesn't mean the old wives tales work it just means that everyone has a 50/50 chance of either girl or boy and they got lucky.
For Gods sake people its 2006! Isn't it time we actually trusted in science and medicine instead of some crap our batty old aunt told us once???

I've had three boys myself! Of course I would have liked a girl and did a lot of research on it - but it didn't really help. What I have read is that the deeper the penetration and the nearer the cervix the sperm gives a better chance to the male sperm which is faster swimming but does not live for so long. So the man from behind is good for boys. Also they say the closer to ovulation the better as the boy sperm does not live as long.
So for girls the opposite is true, make love on day 12 and then no more, as the female sperm live for longer and the woman on top position is good for this.
Sorry to be so graphic - good luck and don't forget to have fun!

OMG why are so many people so ignorant as to the biology behind making a baby, who comes up with these stupid myths. You cannot do anything to ensure you have either a girl or a boy. It all depends on which sperm fertilises the egg (an X chromosome or a Y). The only thing I have ever heard of is that fighter pilots are more likely to father a girl as the G-force (or something about their job) affects their sperm!!
This was just basic biology that I did many moons ago whilst at school, do they not teach these things any more???

The sex of the baby is determined by whether the sperm that fertilizes the egg has an x or a y chromosome. There are so many sperm involved that is more or less random whether the sperm that makes it has an x or a y. There is nothing you can do to choose which sex you get.

Well, there IS a way to determine what you can have! Before you have sex, no matter what position: The woman needs to use a douche of vinegar and water if you want a girl, use a douch of soda and water if you want a boy. The vagina is naturally acidic and vinegar will help the girl sperm get there faster and will slow down the boy sperm. Using soda, it slows the girl sperm and lets the boy sperm get to the egg faster. This does work. Using this method, my mother-in-law had 5 boys and 5 girls. She told us, we tried it and got what we wanted, my sister tried it after having 2 girls, used soda and got a boy! I hope this helps.

No, there is no way to determine the sex before you are pregnant. Sorry, but there's nothing you can do to get the sex that you want. It's biologically determined by the father. You have to settle for what you get...

Generally male sperm swim faster so any position that involves deep penetration would be good for a boy, also encouraging the lady to orgasm as this will 'suck' the sperm up faster. Having sex during and after ovulation is known to be better as the faster sperm get there first. Good Luck!
