i like punk bcuz, it's totally original. it has it's own style, which is being urself, different. and not following "wut's in." it's about letting everything out, and having a sick time getting drunk, having parties, and doing wut u luv. making music.

if u like punk, listen 2: the ramones, the sex pistols, the dead kennedys, social distortion, minor threat... stuff like that...

I like punk because it's intelligent. I don't mean the Blink182, Yellowcard stuff.

If you listen to the lyrics to good punk music, you can improve your intelligence. I just went through the lyrics of the new Casualties album. There is one song that basically outlines each minorities' treatment in America. Say some kid doesn't pay attention in history class or government class, they can learn a lot through one punk song. Now, I don't think it's a substitute for looking things up and learning things on your own, but it can certainly lead you in a direction in which you hope to obtain knowledge about the government, the people, and social and political justice.

Heck, the recent Anti-Flag CD booklet had more interesting information than most of the newspapers I've seen lately.

Also, punk is this attitude to DO SOMETHING RIGHT; to fight for what you believe.

Yes, I like true punk like the ramones, the sex pistols and etc.... but not that blink 182 and green day crap. The reason I like "real punk" is because of the do it yourself ethic that they had, and the very fact that they didn't feel the need to follow what was the norm in music. I like all musical styles by the way.

Yeah, because this rock thing was never meant to be dignified & serious, and punk is just everything the opposite of that. Mind you, it's been reduced to a sub-genre of pop lately, but dig into the older & further-out stuff & you'll see where the edges are...
