There's still daylight. He went through a few time zones by travelling east, and he's going to bed early to catch up on his sleep.

you have to remember we as human beings have inside our eyes what is called cones and rods. The rods are our photorecptors for black and white vision because they are only sensitve to light. They elongate when we are in the sunshine, a lighted room etc.... so for him to get to the bed before it's entirely dark is because the rods inside his eyes haven't had time to go back to their length after the light is switch off.. it's not that the room stayed lit enough after the light switch was turned off.

light switch is on a timer, or you move the bed next to the light switch or the man can sleep on the floor by the light switch. Take your pick!

My step son used to rather be fearful of the darkish and had concept happening in his head only such as you yet he did recover from this is going to surely. consistent with danger you have been observing too many frightening video clips? do not watch those what ever you do. yet ya, you're able to desire to work out a therapist.

Oh for godsakes......I have had 3 children and can attest to night "vision"...pre-planning, pre-empting, pre-condition...whatever. I dont turn on the lights when I get up to see what is troubing my infant....I do it in the dark. A quick flash of light is helful but not needed.
Hotel rooms are easy and small...its really not difficult to find your way as you pre-learned it the moment you walked in the door. One bound and youre in. It may BE dark but in your minds eye you still have vision until you finish moving.

It's called night vision, you idiot. Besides, your story doesn't say what time he arrived at the room. He can make it to bed without it being too dark.
