The dress is black, knee length, and has three quater sleeves with a v-neck. I'm planning to accessorize with a green necklace and green bangles. I was wondering if this sounds too plain. I want to look dressy, but not as formal as prom.

Black is always suitable for all occasions. I would go for red accessories. They look better and red is also the colour of fire and life, so if you would like to enjoy the night I would go for red accessories. They can also make you feel better and more alife.

A simple black dress is so classy, I say definitely wear it! But I would dress it up with something more glitzy than green. Check out www.breezybeachwear.com and click on "surf accessories." Look for the pink Swarovski crystal silver pirate necklace. If you'd like to wear silver and have a splash of color, this would be great. In about 1-2 weeks, they will be selling the same style necklace, but in gold with black swarovski crystals. That would look awesome with your black dress.

Homecoming is more about colorful, vibrant colors. Maybe you should go more colorful and sleeveless? What you have so far is classy and everything, but to be straight with you, it IS a bit plain.
