Looking into Yahoo's Directory that includes a category called Women's studies, one sees concepts like First Ladies, Foot-binding, geisha, Suffrage, Witch Hunts, Feminism. IT seems women's studies are about women and their treatment in society today and historically.

Men typically are not concerned with women's issues. They don't mind if they vote, but they don't necessarily campaign for it. Remember the burning of bras way back in the US? ERA, equal rights amendment? It still hasn't passed.

Men don't show up in Women's studies because it isn't about studying women, but their treatment. Since men are the perpetrators of that treatment, what's in it for them?

My assumption was that "women's studies" would be about things relating to feminism. Very rarely is there a question like this. People are ignorant when it comes to these categories. And by ignorant I mean uneducated, not anything mean. You'll also notice the same thing in Sociology.

Not only is it full of men, it also is not about women's studies. I have not found a single serious on subject query under this heading yet.

What I do see are men and boys attempts at riling up women with their inane prattle.

very good question. you'd think they'd be all over here asking questions especially but it just goes to show you that they really don't give a crap and are only interested in one thing where women are concerned. most men REALLY disgust me.
