Hello…I owe a friend of mine a couple of thousand dollars. We were having a discussion the other day about this debt and how I didn’t have the cash to pay him back yet. He then proceeded to offer to get me some cement shoes. I feel bad because I already owe him a lot of money and he is offering to buy me a gift as well. I tried turning him down, but he is insistent that the next time we meet, he will have them for me. How do I turn down this generous offer without offending him?

You should find a way to repay him a.s.a.p. Even if you have to do it in instalments.

As for turning him down on his generous offer of cement shoes.... it won't be possible to do so unless you can out-run him and hide until you get the money you owe him.

Cement shoes are not a gift, but a threat of bodily harm and death.

What the hell are cement shoes, and why would you want them? Pay him the money you owe him, even if it is just a little bit here and there.

cement shoes go well when he takes you swimming at the east river. cement shoes are not a gift, but a death threat. you know like what happened to jimmy hoffa, denero was great in that movie.

ps just tell him that he can not get the money from you if he kills you

Cute. Cement shoes --- hmmmmmm that is a one way ticket to the bottom of some lake.... meaning you are encased in them then pushed off a boat or pier... and guess what happens.. you sink, you die, I guess he figures your life is worth the thousand dollars you owe.

You've already offended the Loanshark by not repaying the debt. You have no choice. Soon you'll be a bump on the interstate highway and won't offend him ever again .

well if you turn it down your going to offend him!
you best best is to say thank you take the gift and ensure he wasn't no favors in return or money! and ask him not to buy you anything else untill you pay him back then he can continue to spoil.
But ensure he wasn't nothing in return!
Mad luv!

All you need is to tell your friend that he has been most kind by bestowing you with so many gifts.Altogether tell him that you have certain ideals, and that you do love his presents and all the friendliness he shows thu them, it is beyond your capablity to accept them. What you want from him is his friendship- nothing else.
