(This will go down well)

How come the majority of people have the same beliefs as their parents?

At least you framed your question in the "Philosophy" category. Humans have been around for maybe less than a million years, I'm talking all the way back to the cave man. The Earth has been around for 5,000 times that long. The universe has been in existence, at the latest estimate, for 13.7 billion years. All this to end up with the paragon of creation that pollutes the Earth's atmosphere, lands, and pristine waters? I don't think so. Ecologically, humans are a big mistake, especially if we end up with runaway greenhouse effect from all the pollution. If we don't kill the Earth that way, there's always the potential of a nuclear holocaust. Now what kind of fool creator would create such a thing?
Humans created god out of the primal fear of death. Can't say I blame them. As for the "something from nothing argument," when you add up all the attractive and repulsive elements of the universe, they cancel each other out. You get zero energy.

The idea that most believers in God (well, those who have though the question over carefully) have is that God is outside of time and space. modern physics agrees with the idea that time and space are contingent types of reality, and have not always existed. God is the 'ground of being' or the 'first principal', meaning that he is the essence of reality and such things as time, space, matter, mind and so on are emminations from him. Therefore it is not necessary to ask who created God, since God is exists prior to cause and effect and prior to creation itself. Beginings, middles and ends are a part of God's creation, not a part of the internal logic of what God is.
P.S. I'm not a believer, so this isn't my view, but I thought I'd try and answer the question in a way that doesn't belittle the intellectual integrity of theological theory since I have a great deal of respect for it.

There is matter and there is spirit. The world is made of matter and God is completely spiritual or transcendental to matter. Matter has a beginning and an end. Spirit is eternal and has no beginning or end. Not only is God spiritual, but we are also spiritual and eternal because we are part of His spiritual energy. The life force in our bodies is us, our real identity. The body is matter and is never alive. As God is eternal, we are also eternal. No beginning, no end. There is no question of God being created and no question of us being created. Both God and His spiritual energy, the living beings, have always been. Just as the sunshine and the sun exist simultaneously without one there is no meaning to the other. We are conditioned to think of everything as being made of matter, including ourselves. But this is illusion. We are not matter and God is not matter.

My mum believes in God - I don't.
Humans needed to believe in a higher race - so they created God.
It is a scientific fact that from the moment we are born, belief in magic (which is no different to miracles and God) is hardwired into the brain.
The brains of even young babies, not only organize sensory information, but supply what is missing and generate theories about the world, including the belief in God.
He was merely a security blanket for the world, but many horrific and unnecessary things have been done in the name of God.
We are a better educated race now, we know things our forefathers could never hope to know. The only thing that holds us back now - as a race - is our ignorance of the truth.

If you believe in God then your question has only one answer. God must be all-powerful and eternal-that is he has no beginning, middle and end. He always was, he is and he always will be. If you don't believe in God then you must believe that something came out of nothing-I find that a real problem.
On the other hand there need not be a conflict between belief in God and acceptance of evolution.

There is not a beginning to everything, nor an end. We have a decent grasp on the middle though. There is an infinity of number just between 1 and 2. God just is, always has been and always will be.

You assume that everything has a beginning, middle and an end. The problem with that assumption is that it presumes the existence of time. As time, itself, is a creation, then your question becomes meaningless as God, the creator, is not bound by time.

There is no God. Also, the stupid science of Astrology is a complete nonsence. We humans created God because we could not explain many things whose logical reasons were unknown to us. People till now believe in God because they cannot get a logical reason and explanation of the simple and common processes in time and space.

god did not create the world. People in the world invented god as the only solution to the problem 'why are we here' to which there is no answer!

I think you have just asked the question that makes all religion fall flat on it's face unless you have Faith.
I've thought about the universe and god, the meaning of life, why are we here etc. It makes my head hurt.
My view is we are here for a very short time so
Don't Worry Be Happy. There is nothing we can do to change life.
