It's Tuesday morning, 11:30 Central standard time. Kids accross the US should be in school right now...how come so many of you are asking/answering question. I've been looking forward to this day for months...the day after Labor day which marks the end of summer, and back to school. No wonder the world is going to hell in a hand basket....kids skip school and ask stupid questions about sex.

Because some kids are actually on home-study or some other type of home-based program, and their parents aren't monitering it. Aside from that, are you 100% positive its actually a kid asking these idiotic questions?

While I agree with the sentiment, I have to issue a slight correction of fact -- not every school district in the US starts when yours does.

Here just outside Portland, Oregon, my 4th-grader starts Wednesday. My 10th-grader starts Thursday. And they're in the same school district -- it's just that the local high school starts 9th-graders on Wednesday by themselves, to reduce the shock and confusion of having to be on campus with 10th through 12th.

So just as it's not yet 11:30 AM Pacific time, it's also still summer... at least as far as my kids are concerned.

(However, they're doing the sensible thing and staying in bed as long as possible on the last days before they have to get up. :-)

In other parts of the country, the kids have been in school for up to a week or more. So there really is no uniform back-to-school date in the US -- it's district by district.

You are so right. Thats why my tax dollars go to social serives and other things like that. For dumb kids staying home to screw, smoke or just sleep. They have 3 and 4 kids of thier own and live off the state and don't even get a ged.

I just found out one of my friends I went to school with never had a job. She has been living off the state since she was 16. We are 31 years old now.

I work hard everyday and can't get any kind of help at all if I needed it.

They could be home-schooled children, also I just got out of class then I have to go back to school tonight at 6:00, I go to UNCW, so I hope you are talking about the kids that are younger then 18 years old and not the college kids, b/c we have different times for getting out of class!

For some, school hasn't even started yet! Relax. In the North East (USA), kids go back to school on Wednesday, September 6th.

And please remember that not everyone on this site is from the USA!

Mine starts tomorrow, the township I work in starts on the 20th because of construction issues.

I live in EST, & there are other time zones besides yours...

Wake up!
