Stephen Robert Irwin (22 February 1962 – 4 September 2006), nicknamed "the Crocodile Hunter," was an Australian wildlife expert and television personality, best known for the television program The Crocodile Hunter, an internationally-broadcast wildlife documentary co-hosted with his wife Terri Irwin. Along with his wife Terri, Steve also owned and operated Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland. The Australia Zoo is now owned and operated by Terri.

I agree with you I loved Steve also, and he will be sadly missed and I wish to send a prayer from my family to his family, also he died In Aussie off the coast filming a documentary about Stingrays. I was very shocked also, all the work he has done, I can say the animal world has lost a good one, but he also died doing what he loved and now he Is In heaven.

He was stung by a sting rays barb while diving on the great barrier reef....he had been filming a documentary about the sea's deadliest creatures.....he died soon after.

i actually cried my eyes out. It wasn't lengthy on account that my own dad had died and that i had visited Australia Zoo the year before and it replaced into the first ingredient I heard on the information as I wakened after napping from a nighttime shift. i think my reaction replaced into extreme notwithstanding that is how I felt on the time.
