This country is based on "is my right". I am with you, when you commit a crime, you forfeit your rights. What about the rights of the victim? Seems that criminals are a lot of protected than the actual victim. Sad!

When the prisoners are being led to the court for the hearing, they are going to get it ascertained whether they are criminals or not. Since it is not yet proven that they are the criminals, their faces are covered.
But I understand your question. Your question is, "When it is already proven that a person is a criminal, then shouldn't the face of the criminal be shown to public".
And I totally agree with you. If the court decides that the person has been testified as being a criminal, his/her face should be made public. A criminal not only crimes against the victims, but he/she also crimes against the entire society. The money that gets spent in covering the case, doling out justice and hearing the case, is mostly spent through tax payer's pocket. So the average citizens, the tax payers, have the right to see the criminal.

99% of the time it is the criminal that chooses to cover their face. The funny thing is that most of the time the press can fish around and get a photo from drivers license or high school photos. But being filmed moving also means that facial expressions are can be captured and the way the person reacts. That can really tell a lot. It the court room defendants are advised to not react to any of the testimony because it can give the jury ideas as far as if the person is guilty or not. On the street however many cover their face not so much as to hide their face as it is to pretend they aren't being watch if they can't see the crowd, mush like the way an ostrich sticks their head in the sand.

Even though they might have been caught red-handed, because of the fact that you're innocent until proven guilty, they deserve to be tried first.
The reason they cover their faces is, because of your statement that they should be exposed to society, and shamed. You apparently judge people "guilty" whenever you see this spectacle in print or the news. This is not the way our judicial system works (or should work). If one innocent man/woman is wrongly judge, because of someones preconceived ideas that they should've been shamed to satisfy their warp idea of justice then we all lose...

I think you are talking about ACCUSED people being led into court for trial. Until they have been found guilty they are not crininals. How would you like it if you were wrongly accused and your face was splashed all over the television and newspapers. After you had been aquitted the stigma would still be there to some extent. When people are found guilty they get their just deserts. That is as it should be. It should not be as you suggest that potentially innocent people are shamed and ridiculed.

You know, I've wondered about this same thing for a long time also. It should be criminal to cover the con...vict. Show the world their faces and humiliate the H.LL out of them. After all, didn't they possibly destroy someone elses life?
