he is going to have one, If terry agrees,
Words can't explain why he deserves it, because words can't explain why he doesn't deserve to be here today,
God bless steve & his family xx
To the little ******** down there whingeing that it will be his tax dollars, That's too bad, Steves millions have gone it to saving animals and our land, he was buying land because he didn't have the heart to see it be built on.. Look what he has done for Australia, Our tourism? our society? our culture? and your crying over some tax dollars,
People need to rethink what they're saying sometimes

I really liked the guy! But how do you justify using tax money for his funeral when many taxpayers would disagree with the expense?
I think he will get a big public funeral, so that his many fans can mourn his loss, but I don't think the State should be behind it. I would hope some prominent officials would show up, but State functions are typically for elected officials or royal families.
Did Lady Di get a state funeral? She certainly got a huge outpouring from the public, regardless of what the State did.
I hope Steve Irwin's life is celebrated all over the world.

Yes. He is in a small group of Aussies that puts that country on the map. Along with a few actors/actresses, a few music stars, and some high profile models, Steve Irwin is a name that makes you think Australia. Steve alone is responsible for some percentage of the tourism this island gets, he is a national hero and teacher and I hope they honor him for this. Fearless, funny, smart, and nice, what a combo.

yes i do. i do care. he was a great ambassador for what he was passionate about - his family and protecting and conserving animals of all types (even the less popular ones). he made animal planet what it is today and taught me so much about animals in his myriad shows. i think his loss will be felt for a long time and hope that someone with his knowledge and charisma is able to fill the large shoes left empty by his untimely death. my condolences to his family.
even if you didn't always agree with how fanatical he was in his views or loves of strange and unpopular animals, you had to admire and respect his dedication to his work. unafraid, unapologetic, and uncompromising.

Just from the impact he has had on the public. I have learned alot from just watching his show.
I think he has opened a lot other folks eyes to facts on animals. Just because an animal is dangerous is not a good enough reason to kill them.
