Gee... I'd say only the ones who make too much promises to their children and who idolize Mr. Irwin themselves. Indeed, they're stupid. Why should Steve Irwin be attached to or be part of their children's lives? And what's so difficult about telling them the truth than feeding their children with wrong information? Oh well... I for one would agree with you not to let those kind of parents breed.

Well to explain Death to a Child is not always easy. While your right to explain a TV person's death seems simple enough. Death is just hard to explain to anyone. I felt at a great loss as to why this Steve Irwin had to die the way he did. So with me being an adult and feeling so sad about the loss of such a Man that was so full of Life, then it would be hard to explain to a Small Child that knew him, like his own children did that he's dead. Death seems so final. Maybe this is why these people feel at a loss as to explain that this Larger then Life Figure of a man is gone. They are having a hard time believing he is gone to. These people should be allowed to breed. We need more people like these people in this World.

I understand your point, but it does raise a good question of how to discuss death with a young child. Actually, it's probably easier to do with Steve Irwin than Grandma.
I'm glad parents care enough about raising their kids well to think about these issues, but I totally agree that there's a time for common sense to take over. Anyone who is genuinely looking for parenting advice on Yahoo! answers is probably not going to find it between the perverts, point gamers and jerks.

If a child asks, the best thing to do is be open and honest and let them know a stingray felt threatened and struck out at Steve. Children are much smarter and stronger than we give them credit for. And with many easily able to navigate online, they'll read about it anyway.

Young children don't really understand the finality of death. It's a concept that may take years to sink in-even when they have experienced death, firsthand, with the loss of a family member.
Death of a loved TV persona is even harder to grasp because tv itself is not real.
I made my son accompany me to clean out the fishbowl and flush the dead fish down. I told him the fish was dead and the words had meaning for him. But, when we were about to flush it, he said, "I thought we were going to help the fish". It was at that point that he understood that death was final. He was 6 years old and he's normal (not retarded). He still doesn't fully understand death.
Parent's are not stupid; they just have experiences that you are ignorant of.

I respect this man, he was an expert on land but not in the ocean. This was not a foolhardy person but one who knew the physics of dealing with dangerous creatures, esp the crocodile, and had the chemistry and passion to lead others toward a respectful appreciation of the animal kingdom. Passion has its flip side risks too, he's not stupid. I'd wish for him to be in heaven now, but I don't know if he believed there was one.
Goodbye Steve!

i'm truly between the minority who isn't a huge fan of the Irwin prolonged relatives. Bindi, which very lovable basically looks so contrived. i do not see a authentic toddler's personality in the back of each and every of the scripted lines she factors. Admittedly to be able to attempt this at one of those youthful age is a feate in itself and is purely commendable, it should be outstanding to easily see somewhat female you comprehend. even with my own evaluations on them as a nuclear relatives, what Steve Irwin did for conservation (notwithstanding borderline risky and doubtlessly detrimental it ought to each and every so often be) he extra authentic understanding to the international at great as to the plight of diverse animals. He confirmed that they are all nicely worth saving and he did it in a fashion that appealed to adults and little ones alike, which i ought to imagine is an truly puzzling area of do. i imagine Steve replaced into Steve, no matter if in the front or in the back of the digicam I not in any respect were given the feeling he replaced into showing off. nevertheless i imagine that really than a Steve Irwin day so that you need to talk, an afternoon of contribution to the planet can be a more effective ingredient. From the little i do study him, he wasn't one for a good purchase of unnecessary pomp even as it got here to him. He continuously looked as if it would furnish the impact that he ought to submit with it if it meant the animals were given equivalent billing, for this reason his message were given via. i imagine perchance an afternoon like the clean up Australia campaign can be a good idea. we ought to all be doing some thing to advance our ecosystem to inspire interior sight flora and fauna, no matter if or not they be reptile or otherwise. lets plant interior sight timber in our yards and parks to inspire the interior sight flora and fauna again. lets do an same in our parks and gardens. Water good factors ought to nicely be extra. sooner or later it should be some thing i imagine Steve should be happy with and so ought to we pondering having executed our little bit for mom Earth. of direction there is continuously the alternative to donate money to the fund i'm certain they could have set up for one of those ingredient. besides, it really is basically my address what a 'Steve Irwin' day ought to entail, truly than only an afternoon of unhappiness and misery, blended with some direction :)

These questions arise from an over sensitized society. It's not like we (for I too have children who loved the show) have to tell them. It's not stupidity per se that engrosses these parents, just overprotective behaviors. As far as breeding, sorry "bloke", we don't have a choice in the matter.

Kids need to know the consequences of playing with dangerous animals or anything dangerous for that matter - drugs, fire, even domestic animals. My kids loved Steve Erwin but what he did was daredevilish and I dont think that he set a good example for our children. This is a great time for them to learn that if you do stupid things - YOU CAN DIE.
