could be allergies or the start of a cold....

the sore throat is probably due to your sinuses draining the extra mucuos caused from the runny nose into the back of your throat causing irritation.

you can gargle with salt water to help ease the pain. tsp of salt to 8oz of warm water.

you can also try taking an over the counter allergy or cold medication to help stop the running nose.

for the pain from the sore throat you can take ibuprofen-it works best to relieve pain and reduce swelling. take 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.

warm tea, sucking on ice or throat lozenges will help too

It sounds like the flu that's been going around. The length you have it depends on the person. My cousin has had effects of it for about a week. A guy at work had it for 4-5 days.
Drink lots of fluids and rest as often as possible. Take a couple Tylenol and some cough syrup for your throat.
Call me in the morning so I can update your progress.
Now, where would you like the bill sent? Do you have insurance? LOL

p.s.- with a cold you don't get a sore throat. that's flu territory!

Sounds like you have a cold. Usually last a week. If its strep throat, you will have white blotches on the back of your throat.

probably a cold. If the sore throat gets really bad see a doctor. I used to get laryngitis from colds all the time.
