take an anti inflammatory. HEAT (never ice the neck!!). Gentle stretching exercises. Massage can help...but ONLY if provided by a certified massage therapist, physical therapist, possibly chiropractor (although...if you go to a chiropractor they'll fix your neck...a 'little bit' over the course of a year or so...also, they do the 'cracking'/adjustments which can be dangerous if you are experiencing a muscle sprain/strain).

neither...i would suggest physical therapy. since there is not much detail to your question i wont be able to explain further. see your inter, they will suggest what is right....and might give you some vicadine while your at it!
