The most sixers in one over was first scored by Sir Garfield Sobers, when he was playing as a Captain of Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in 1968 against Malcom Nash. The 36 runs scored by him broke the 57 years record of most runs in an over of 34 scored by Ted Alleston
Subsequently Mr. Ravi Shastri of India also scored 6 sixers in an over in 1984 in the Ranji Trophy match against Baroda

In 1968, Sobers became the first ever batsman to hit six sixes off one over of six consecutive balls in first-class cricket. Sobers was playing as captain of Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in Swansea; the unfortunate bowler was Malcolm Nash. This tally of 36 runs off an over beat a 57 year-old record of 34 runs, held by Ted Alletson.
The feat of six sixes in an over has since been matched only once, by Ravi Shastri, playing for Bombay against Baroda in 1984.
