sad to say, buying a new one is probably your best, and easiest option. I made the mistake of thinking I could repaint my sink once, the stuff they sell at DIY stores takes 5 DAYS to cure. Who's got that kinda time for a sink? Let alone a toilet.
They really are relatively inexpensive...and if I can change out a toilet, so can you. (just parts of it are gross)

I've tried 'reglazing' a bathtub - to make it short, I would very much recommend to replace the thing or learn to love pink
actually, I had some 70's grayish pink bathtub and stuff in a house I owned a couple of years ago, after I painted the walls sand yellow, the color looked more like brown, not too bad anymore
or if you can live with just painting the outside, get porcellain paint at a crafts store and never scrub too much when cleaning

Oil Paint
High gloss oil paint sticks very well to glazed china surfaces. You don't have to do any preparation work other than cleaning the surface and making sure it is dry.
but there is no guarantee it will last. give it a shot and hope for the best. just to let you know that you wont be able to do the inside of the bowl and if it doesnt work get a new one.

Wave your magic wand.
Abracadabra! You are a white toilet!
No paint, even epoxy will last below the water line. No choice but to buy a new toilet.
