I am not on my period nor is it PMS...but my breast are sooo tender...they ache! Mostly the sides next to my armpits..its been this way for three weeks! What the deal?!

go to the doc - it may be your lymph nodes - don't wait - could be nothing or it could be serious good luck!!!

if you don't feel it's hormonal...it could be thoracic outlet syndrome. In this case (usually in large chested women) the nerves/veins can be compressed which causes pain. usually the pain /numbness (depends on whether the nerves or vessels are being compressed) is in arms...but theoretically could affect your chest also. It's not super serious, but should be taken care of by your MD and then a physical therapist. But...you need to go to the MD to figure out what this is. You could also have swollen glands in your arm pits..a sign a various illness also. Last, but not least...could you be pregnant?

Depending on your age, they could simply be growing, though everyone else makes a good point about what could be "wrong" with them. Check with a gyno either way to alleviate your worry.

could be fibroids
any lumps?
have you hurt yourself in some way recently?
any discharge from the nipples?
new medication or vitamins
milk ducts could be blocked or infected
check with your doctor

You may have fibrocyctic disease in your breasts which is very common among women (I have it and I know what pain in breasts mean). Consult your doctor about it.

Sounds like your glands are swoolen. You should go to the dr.
