I saved my niece's life when she was a toddler. She picked up a piece of candy and stuffed it in her mouth before anyone could get it from her. She started choking on it and I gave her the kiddie version of the Heimlich Maneuver.
Also, recently my 1-year-old nephew (her little brother) fell into our pool and I pulled him out. He was only underwater for a few seconds but it seemed like an eternity.

HaHaHaHaHa! I always see these great questions, then I see that it is from YOU!!!
Actually my husband and I just spent 6 months saving someone's life that went through cancer and treatments and almost died three different times & we had to get him into the hospital twice, when he wouldn't help himself, and we had to set him up in an Avion trailer that we bought and moved him to where we were so we could help, drive him 30 miles and back to treatments, put up with his very rude personality, get embarrassed in public, and not tell a guy that was sending him thousands of $$s that he was blowing it on videos and computers and cameras and stuff.
Today, he has been pronounced cancer-free, but won't accept it, and is willing himself to starve to death and die, and won't answer our calls or emails any more.
If you regret helping someone, when it was to your own detriment, and they turn out to be turds, does that remove the good Karma that you had earned?

Does indirectly count?
I pointed out that there was someone drowning in the river outside my grandmother's house. It was in the morning and my mom, aunt, and I were sitting in the sun room when I noticed some one flailing (sp) in the water. We went running down to the pier but it was my mom, Ms. Nurse Extraordinaire, who jumped in first and swam to the kid. I was there for the second leg of the swim back to take over but it was really my mom who did the initial life-saving.
He and his friend decided to try to swim the width of the river. It's about 1 1/2 miles. Not hard for a seasoned swimmer but not easy for this kid. He got about halfway when he started having problems and his friend didn't help. Nice friend, eh. Guess he was just scared. It was frightening.

Yes my sisters, we were on vacation at the beach, on the rock, she was like 4 or 5 and a wave hit us, it pulled her into the sea and before it knew it I was jumping in the water swimming after her and saved her life....

Good one! I like it.
My hubby did save our daughter and granddaughter and dog when the house burned. He went through the flames in the living room and to their room and got them out and flames flying out right behind them. They were not hurt, thank Jesus. BB

Wow, I never did anything like that, but when I was in middle school, I did help someone get to shore swimming; that part of the lake had weird drop-offs and then someone (his parent??) bought me ice cream! YUM
