It's always useful to have GCSE Maths and it gives you an extra boost in the job market, particularly if you want to do hospitality management which would involve finance. If you resit in November it should be easy to convert that D into a C especially if your coursework was good-if so carry that part of your mark forward-if not do it again and get some guidance on hoe to get a good coursework mark. Try BBC bitesize revision and Mathsangel web sites. Also do as many Past Papers as you can get hold of.

The choice is down to you and not what anyone else thinks. But English and Maths are the common subjects that universities and employers look to at to see if you have A*-C. If you can cope with the work from college and also with the GCSE maths then i would advise you to take it but if you wont be able to dont affect your college course too. You could always resit it any time in the future, you dont neccesarily have to do it now. Hope this helps

I also got a D in maths. I did a BTEC ND in Media Studies and re-took maths. Again I got a D and felt like even more of a loser. But guess what, I now work for a Bank!!! Getting a D twice didn't stop me from achieving what I wanted.

I even have that examination on monday too. only relax and take time between now and monday to pass over each and all of the significant sections you come across difficult. Im crap at fixing equations and working out angles in a circle cuz i'm able to in no way remeber the policies yet i spent approximately 3 hrs the day in the previous at present working by way of multiple questions, and now i'm getting them suitable. So only prepare. i think of each and all of the mathematics tests have been difficult this year.

If it is a course requirement - Yes. If you want to do the course.
You should be able to submit as an external via your local college - you might have to sit an extra paper, rather than submit a portfolio - if they still have that provision.
Failing that you might see what access courses are available.

It's what you want to do that matters, but surely re-sitting the maths is not a big issue and look at the gratification when you get a C or higher.
Good luck on the re-sit.

Most jobs want you to have a C in maths and English, even if you have a higher qualification in a completely different field, so it might be a good idea to re-take it.
