I'm going at the end of September and seeing as how its cold now I'm guessing it'll be colder then so no beach. I think its close enough to go to NYC but what else is there to do? There doesn't seem to be a movie theater and the closest mall is Monmouth? Any good restaurants? Bars? Shopping? Etc? Thanks!

The Beach is still open.. and most of the boardwalk attractions too, even more on the weekends
NYC is only a short train ride away

Visit some of the finest local garbage dumps....JK...
I think you should check out the jersey shore and drive to Atlantic city if you can... that would be your most exciting option.
