Is it something natural or is it something that we are trained to be? Covering private regions is the practice in almost all 'civilised' socities but there are a lot of tribal socities which are comfortable even when they are all completely naked.

Speak for yourself. Not me.

Our society trains us to feel ashamed of our bodies if they are not compariable to the imagery we are fed in the media. Other socities are comfortable because they lack all of the forms of media that we have been conforming to since the creation of the USA.

Not all of us feel shy when naked. I go to the nude beach all the time, and believe me it's no big deal to be naked around others. Once you get over your initial shyness, it takes about 10 minutes to forget that you're naked.

We're taught that nudity is shameful, or that it's only reserved for intimate sexual situations...neither of which is true. Nudity is not always sexual, and it's certainly not shameful, but it is always sensual once you get into it.

Please do yourselves a favor and at least try a nude beach once...trust me, you'll love every second of it and never want to wear a bathing suit again.

Bare hugs...

It's training. When the westerners first got to Hawaii, they were shocked by the lack of clothing. That soon changed. It comes from the verse in Genisis where Adam and Eve hide themselve from God because the realized they were naked.

We are trained to be shy. As with all morals. Some have a very free upbringing and have no problem with being nude, while others are taught to be chaste. Then there is another category of those who have serious flaws going on and wouldn't be caught dead or alive naked.

I mean civilised people's thing to do, its only people who are mentally ill or who are hungry to fulfil their own sexual desire.

it is because "civilized" societies has decided that the human body causes sex and other "wrong" thoughts to enter into our minds...which in turn causes rape , incest ect....
if we were raised to respect the human body as a beautiful work of art (which it is no matter what size, color ect) we would be better societies... you don't hear about all the "sex crimes" in the societies that are more open with nudity.
