If they are intellectually eqaul with anybody, then they should play at the leveled playfield. Begging for affirmative action is only a result of being intellectually inferior and asking for free handouts.

The real problem with affirmative action is that it tars all of those that benefit from it with the same brush. Thus, if a company operates affirmative action - the Metropolitan Police is undoubtedly doing it right now in London - the vast majority of the workforce, who are in place by merit alone, bitterly resent it.
The problem - say, for instance, racism - that the affirmative action was designed to solve actually becomes worse.
There is no doubt that certain groups - and definitely racial groups - are disadvantaged by lack of educational achievement in the UK. West Indians are certainly one such group. Conversely, there are also certain racial groups who excel at school, college and university - Indians and Vietnamese for certain; there are probably more.
It strikes me that affirmative action is a way that the liberal left has devised to ensure that racial divisions remain rather than are solved by natural evolutionary means.
It is no good giving someone a job because he or she is from a certain racial group - all organisations owe it to their "customers" to provide the very best workforce, regardless of ethnicity, sexual inclination or other distinguishing feature.

Not all of us are. I think it was an interesting idea when it first came out but it's become a crutch.
Your intellectually inferior crack is untrue and part of the reason I don't think affirmative action should exist anymore. If you were right about it, it could easily be used as in argument in favor of it.

Being a minority does not mean that you've had a harder time in life. A lot of minorities grow up with TONS of money, yet they need more help in life than a white kid from a low-income family?
It's time for the minorities to take some pride back into their lives and reject the specialized programs that give them preference over others. Level the playing field and let the best man win!

im not sure you undesrstand what affirmative action is.
it is designed for those who have been disadvantaged by other groups. it has nothing to do with inherited ability or intellegence.
