If you feel you have to replace tennis with something else then it sounds like you have an obsession with tennis. This is probably the reason that your counselor wants you to stop playing rather than the fact that you hate it. Are you playing tennis only for the pleasure of your parents? If so, you must focus on not being a "people pleaser" all the time. You will spend the rest of your life trying to make other people happy and will remain miserable yourself. I think taking some computer classes, or getting some new software to experiment with would be a good option - but don't do it to "replace" tennis. Do it because you want to! You can never go wrong by getting more education - but an obsession with anything (even learning) is not healthy. Just talk to your parents and tell them you're not happy with tennis, or have your counselor help you if you can't do it alone. Good luck to you!

This is not huge! This is nothing! Play tennis anyway, if you get really good at it then you can make a lot of money and then do as you please. Video games suck the life out of you. And I think your counselor needs some counseling as well. What is rewarding about video games or bagging or mowing lawns? Nothing, video games have taken your motivation. Learning to play tennis is harder than ANY video game and this may take more time but the rewards are endless.

Being good at video games is just that and then you have nothing but strong thumbs and good hand eye coordination. If it's the instructor that bothers you then switch. If it's the fact that "you are no good at it" then treat it like some hard video game were you sit there for hours trying to master it.

Don't give in to this need for everything being easy or fast rewards. Work at something and see what happens. How much time will it take out of your life to try that? At least you can say you tried your hardest and it was not for you. Good luck and I hope you stick with the tennis gig.

Breath it will be okay. Video games not the answer. have you tried other sports to make up for the lack of Tennis that will be in your life. That way when you tell them it will be oh I don't want to play tennis anymore but i do want to try ... whatever sport you want. If you decide sports just are not your thing then tell them you want to chill on the couch for a little bit and play video games like a normal person.

Just tell them that you don't like tennis. I do not see how it "needs to be replaced" with anything. If you have too much free time or your parents think that you need to be "outside doing something," then I would think about joining DeMolay or a similar group. You get to meet new people, they have sub-groups that do various things, and you could find something that you like.

If it's a sports thing, then you might try another sport. You might find one that you like.

You also might ask to counselor to talk to your parents so that they will not push you to stay in tennis.

Why dont you go around fixing computer programs or games and stuff. or maybe teach some basics to the bigginers. Lawn mowing isnt bad either. will get u to exercise atleast few times a week. :)
