please name the film i am after.. i believe it was made in 1933, and it was on TV, ch4 england in the early eighties...
a couple have a portrait of their house on the wall in the living room, they notice a ghostly figure has appeared in the picture and as the days progress it moves... they see on the last day that the figure in the picture is at the doorstep... then they hear knocking at their own real front door...... thanks if you can help!..

Night Gallery too new, it was definately a 1930's film... cheers...imdb and ch4 cant help.. so, its down to you lovely people..!!

If it isn't "The Monkey's Paw", I'm stumped. But I will say that if it's an English film, it probably scared the underpants off you. They come up with some of the scariest films I've ever seen.

Sounds like a great movie, can't wait for the answer, would love to see it. Read a Hitchcock story about a picture with a hangmans noose on the moor in it, and the owner vanishes into the painting and his hung, but don't think it was ever a movie.

i don't understand approximately if this pertains to the books, yet i recently watched the hoop ( the jap version is extra effective) this is indefinably horror, yet slightly mysterious, or you ought to observe .. or a action picture 24 ( or some thing like that) this is extra secret and secret... or splice... i could basically bypass on Lovefilm, click on Lovefilm instant and leaf during categories... =) Or Silent hill, Pans Labyrinth
