Me but i dont see many Muslims doin it my country. They have no respect for our western culture ,they only want to change it to theres. We need to Demand an Oath to our crown and Laws from any person who wants to stay in our Land and make it there home here. Our Laws says a man and woman of any creed or colour can wed. This must be excepted by all or leave and take your heathen ways with you.

Yes I do but, while that may be a problem to some with cultural or religious differences in a strange country, the adage should possibly be "when in Rome if you can't do as the Romans do, at least respect them for being Romans.

It is actually a good question. When you go to another country, if you don't know the moors, you will soon find yourself in trouble.
Like, you have to eat with your left hand in a Mid Eastern country, because the right is used for ...ummm...personal bathroom habits.
If you use your right, you are dirty & disgustion to them...
Some gestures in other countries are different than here...
learn before you go so you are not an outcast & can look like a local. It also impresses the people if you do that, because you took the time to learn before you went. It is a good thing...
Even a simple thing as addressing the people behind the desk at the hotel in France...

I bet the Romans believe the adage!! You should try and experience the local customs even if your travelling in your own country - you will find a rich variety of local customs within each country.
When in America???? you aint been there then mate cos they love anything European!!!!

I believe in it in some instances. However, I think it could be used to take the blame out of bad behaviour. But to fit in we really need to step in that direction, don't you think? This adage applies to many level of behaviour and I am glad that you asked the question because it is very thought provoking. Well done!

Absolutely. If you're travelling, then the best way to experience the culture of the place is to eat with the locals. Obviously in certain countries it is definitely a good idea to dress like the locals - you're not only honouring their culture, but I often find that it can be more comfortable physically, and not only because you don't get stared at.
If you're not travelling, then in what situation do you mean?

Most people used to do so. After all it's only common courtesy to behave as your hosts would expect. This concept, at the moment, is breaking down dramatically in the United Kingdom where groups such as Muslims expect to live comfortably in our country yet retain the medieval aspects of their religion and culture.

Which Rome? If I followed that logic, in Rome, Italy I would pinch your butt. In Rome, Georgia, well, that having children with a family member comes to mind.

I believe they are called italians these days.
Seriously though... I agree to a certain extent. I don't think you should go to a country where English is not the first language and expect everyone to bow down and speak English and vice versa, if English is not your first language and you go to an English speaking country why would you expect them to speak *insert language here*
I also think it is about trying new things and cultures.
So yeah I guess I do agree
