Beyond the obvious repercussions in our daily lives, the White House has been able to achieve some major objectives as a direct result of 9/11: oil pipeline thru Afghanistan, control of Iraqi oil fields, fearful citizens who acquiesced to the Patriot Act, billions in non-bid contracts to Bush-supporting corporations like Halliburton.
So they tell us that the Al Qaeda did it. Their motives being “They hated Americans, hated our freedoms, our way of life….”
What if the Conspiracy theory we accept-that 19 Arabs inspired by a guy in a cave in Afghanistan defeated the most powerful country in history and, for the first time in history, defeated laws of physics to collapse three steel-framed high-rises- is inaccurate?
OOOh..but even to think about this possibility for even a second would automatically label us Anti-American and lump us with them, right?

Turboweegie: Good job demonstrating that Republicans have no answer to this question! Mere personal attacks. LOL.

I do not believe the conspiracy theory that the government has provided me as fact for the events of 9/11.
I do not like farkas419 saying, "Those 19 guys were extremists. They'd believe anything, so long as they can have their virgins," as it shows how brainwashed you've really become. (You do know that the Qu'ran says nothing about 72 virgins, don't you?)
I do not like John J saying, "you're obsessed, terrified and fearful of a government 'conspiracy,'" as he clearly does not understand that we are not fearful or terrified of our government. We are disgusted and abhorred by them.
I do not like FREAKZILLA saying, "you would be labeled a conspiracy theorist with a lack of knowledge," as it shows how misinformed he is, not us. We who question the official story have done more research that most all of you who eat it up as infallible truth.
One more time:
Popular Mechanics article: 1. "One of the clearest, most widely seen pictures of the doomed jet's undercarriage was taken by photographer Rob Howard." Flight 175 was filmed by more than 4 major news networks as it hit the South Tower as well as countless amateur and still photographers. To rely on the study of ONE photograph and claim the culprit to be lighting is absurd. There was too much smoke from the North Tower to even allow light to alter the image. Look at them ALL.
2. "Jet fuel burns at 800° to 1500°F, not hot enough to melt steel (2750°F). NIST reports that pockets of fire hit 1832°F." Still not hot enough to drop two 110 story buildings in 56 and 103 minutes, respectively. Tell me why WTC 1, 2 and 7 are the only skyscrapers in history to be taken down by fire. Need examples? Here you go - New York, 08/05/1970, 50 stories, burns for 6 hours, does not collapse; Los Angeles, 05/04/1988, 62 stories, burns for 3 hours across 4 floors, does not collapse; Philedelphia, 02/23/1991, 38 stories, burns for 19 hours across 8 floors, does not collapse; Venezuela, 10/17/2004, 56 stories, burns for 17 hours across 26 floors (reaches the roof), does not collapse.
3. WTC 7 - "NIST investigators believe a combination of intense fire and severe structural damage contributed to the collapse, though assigning the exact proportion requires more research." No mention to the PBS documentary where Larry Silverstien, controller of WTC 7, said, "I remember getting a call from the, er, fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.' And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse." [PBS Home Video, ISBN 0-7806-4006-3, is available from http://shop.pbs.org/products/A...
4. Pentagon - "A crashing jet doesn't punch a cartoon-like outline of itself into a reinforced concrete building, says ASCE team member Mete Sozen, a professor of structural engineering at Purdue University. In this case, one wing hit the ground; the other was sheared off by the force of the impact with the Pentagon's load-bearing columns, explains Sozen, who specializes in the behavior of concrete buildings." So, the plane hit the ground, leaving a picture perfect lawn in front of the Pentagon, the wings simply came off and then disintigrated? How about the tail?
5. Yates Gladwell - How come every single search I do leads me to this one article? This seems to be the only place on the world wide web that Yates Gladwell appears in. There is too much wrong with flight 93. Check this out. http://killtown.911review.org/htb2.html

Michelle, all that the White House has "gained" is a lot of criticism for two wars, and for 9/11 happening on Bush's "watch."
Michael Moore has Halliburton stock. Does that mean he was in on the conspiracy as well?
Those 19 guys were extremists. They'd believe anything, so long as they can have their virgins.
The only thing that physics professors CAN'T figure out as far as the WTC is concerned, is HOW the buildings stood so long.
I would not say you're anti-American. However, you are being gullible.

To MishMash: I OWN the Koran. I know what it says. No, it says nothing about the virgins, and it says nothing about killing everyone who disagrees with them.
From what I have read of the Koran, it's no more violent than the Bible, and I'm a Christian.
Of course, no matter what I do or do not say, there are always going to be people who misinterpret and put a different spin on my words.
I notice that the part where I said EXTREMISTS escaped detection. That's what they are, extremists. Much like the "Christians" who bomb abortion clinics.

I have some problems with your question.
1.) the oil pipline never got off the ground, and this was in the planning stages before 9-11. During the Clinton administration.
2.) you say non-bid, this is not accurate most of the times during the open bid for contractors there would only be one contractor available to bid.
3.) You act like the terrorists are idiots hiding in caves. these are very smart individuals that are possibly genious'. They have major connections all throughout the world and understand the workings within our own society.
4.) you say tyhe collapse of the buildings defeated the laws of physics. still your spending too much time listening to people who were never there who reviewed the materials, who never unstood the structural design of them. You obviously have never reviewed any of the Engineers data on the collapse. Listed below of some sources for you.

Now I swear this is the last 9/11 conspiracy question Ill repsond to. Who gained? The people who did it. They are with Allah or whoever. Al Queda gained because they showed their followers that we can be hurt. Some politicians gained because it made Bush an easy target instead of admitting thier own faults. Anyone who really thinks their own Govt. would do something to this level really needs to reconsider if they really belong in the country they are in. Come on Michelle, I cannot believe someone who is as educated as you would give in to cheap political tactics like this. :(

laden tried and failed in 93' and then did it in 2001' , you would be an idiot to think a man as rich as laden couldn't train , fund and organize only 19 people . your laws of physics theory has been explained hundreds of times obviously you just don't want to listen , there are no other buildings in the world that were built like those , they were very unique considering all the elevators and the hollow core . I suggest you do some research on the contruction of those buildings and how they fell so quickly. also you must be forgetting the confession of laden on tape , the promise of more attacks , the numerous attacks in the past , and of course the fact that we have not been attacked since war . It's amazing after 5 years you idiots are still trying to blame this on your own people . and you would not be labeled anti american , you would be labeled a conspiracy theorist with a lack of knowledge .

Look...you can believe whatever you want. You can make whatever conclusions you need to to help you sleep at night...or not, whichever the case may be. But I choose not to live my life looking under the bed and in the closet or behind the TV for the government bogeyman who, according to some non-facts and purposeful misinterpretations, is supposedly responsible for 9/11. Not only have you let the terrorists win, but you're also letting the very people that you believe are responsible for the tragedy win...you're obsessed, terrified and fearful of a government "conspiracy" and, if it were even remotely true, they've succeeded! How twisted has your logic become that you can't see the plain and simple facts? Stop living in fear and promoting it at the same time! If you're that convinced, go to someone who can do something about it. When will you people realize that YOU ARE the conspiracy?

Michelle, you have to sort through the hype from the government spinmeisters. First of all, the U.S. had a military base in Saudi Arabia. 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Aribia.
There are a certain percentage of fanatical muslims in their religion, just as there a certain percentage of fanatical christians in our country. Consider the Amish in our country. Would you consider them fanatical? Or is that just their religion? That doesn't mean that all americans are like the Amish. Same is true in the Arab countries. Not every Arab is a terrorist.
I'll bet if the U.S. had never had a presence in the gulf, none of this would be happening.
Who gained? Haliburton.
Dick Cheney, as CEO of Haliburton had signed the PNAC letter to Clinton, advocating going into Iraq to spread democracy. These terrorists are not mad at americans and their way of life, they are mad at our oil company's and their bankers, and the government that supports them. That's what 9-11 was all about. How coincidental is it that the Bush family had business connections with the Bin laden family that go way back. Why think it's because they hate our freedom and our way of life. Thats not the real reason, thats just what we've been told to make us support their war.

i'm not condoning 9/11 in any respect, yet once you attempt controling each and every united states interior the middle East, there are going to be people who get disappointed and desire freedom from an imperialist government that only makes use of international locations for organic materials.

I love crazy libs! It really makes my day to read your nut job conspiracy theories. It's hilarious. I dont like what he said, I dont like what the other guy said. That was particularly funny! Tell me something else did you guys believe those forwards with the guy standing on the tower with the jet closing in?! Please don't change! It's obvious you guys cannot come up with anybody worth nominating for president so I'm most certainly not scared that your opinion matters so please PLEASE keep giving me this stuff!

By the way, remember how everyone loved Bush for his response to 9/11? Don't you think that he would have "planned" these attacks closer to the election so as to be able to run on that gained popularity? But like I said keep em coming!

What is the definition of "A True American"?

I don't know who to believe, but the most important implication in that statement is that I may not believe the story we've been fed.
