No. Bono is Bono; Chris Martin is Chris Martin. Both stand or fall on their own ability and reputation.
In the old days, people speculated whether Springsteen was the "new Dylan". Well, Dylan is still around and great, and so is Springsteen.

Chris Martin, is just Chris Martin. They are quite different people and very different musically. The ONLY thing they do have in common is that they both use their music as a means to pimp their causes. Which is okay I guess but really not the point of all of it in my opinion.

Not a chance in hell. He would need a personality transplant first. Bono is a cheeky monkey and gets up to all sorts. The most exciting CM gets up to is varying the ingredients he makes his Bulgar Wheat with.....

What would make him one? He is not Irish, and Bono is not married to a Hollywood actress, or have children named after fruit.
U2 also can do uptempo songs!
Why can we not try to see innovation instead of always sarching for imitation. Embrace the difference, or turn off radio if don';t like it.
