Sweetie, yes u can it is rare but it does happen it is more likely if u miss a dose or 2 but can happen.Or if u have been on some antibiotics or any type of peridsones or steroids of any type. Even if u don't.it sis not a common thing. But it is possible.and if u think u are then u need to stop the pill immediately and go to the doc soon as u can so they can check u and the unborn baby and make sure all is OK with u both.

Absolutely! It's 99% effective ONLY WHEN TAKEN EXACTLY AS PRESCRIBED. This means you need to take it at the same time of day every single day. Also, certain pills are more effective than others. If you are on a low dose pill (microgestin 1/20 or something) that may not be enough protection. Other pills have higher doses of hormones. These pills can cause other unpleasant side effects, though.
The best way to be really sure you will not get pregnant is to double up on birth control - the pill + a condom or other form of BC. Even a spermicide would help.

Yes you can. Since today's pills have very low doses of hormones the pill needs to be taken at the same time every day to keep the hormones in your body. Also, some medications do effect the pill, so you would need to use a back-up form of birth control during that time. The biggest risk to getting pregnant on the pill is being inconsistent with taking it.

Yes you can but it is rare. They say that it is 99% because if they said 100% they would have a lot of law suits. It becomes very risky and you have a higher chance of getting pregnant when you miss a pill. For example say you forget to take it one day and you took two the next day. That alters your body's protection against pregnancy and may allow you to conceive. So, since not everyone can usually remember to take the pill at the same time everyday you should use another method as well if you don't want to take the chance. Also, I heard that some bcp have a higher chance of results in pregnancy than others. The progesterone only one is just one example.

Yes, but it also depends on what brand of the pill your using and how faithful you are in taking the pill. Some brands are much better than others, and the chance of getting pregnant is less than 5% or something like that. You should ask a pharmacist which is the best birth control pill to buy.

your body can eventually over an amount of years become amunne to your same pill. so sometimes your doctor will up the dosage of your pills to prevent that from happening. your doctor can tell whether you need this done or not, just ask them to check. also theres a chance if you miss a pill or a couple pills that you can get pregnant if you have sex that month. its best to make sure you take your pills at the same exact time every day or every night so that there is no chance you can get pregnant. its likely to get pregnant no matter what you do if you have sex at a certian time every month when you are ovulating, so be careful. i would suggest using protection plus the pill.

Meet my six year old...He is my "Pill Baby." My husband and I weren't trying to get pregnant so soon after having our first child, so I got on the pill and still got pregnant! What's even crazier, after I had him, my doctor asked us what we wanted to do for birth control, and we decided I would go on the Depo shot. They came in and gave me the shot before I was released to go home after having my son. They said I wouldn't need another shot for three months....I got pregnant again within two months! We had another boy (Our third) and decided we try for a little girl, which we finally had two years ago, and I got my tubes tied after her birth. So far...Knock on wood....I haven't got pregnant, and I'm pretty sure I'm much more protected this time! lol!

yep. Acording to use the pill is only 93% effective. that 99% effectivness is if your body is regulating the hormone correctly and you're taking the pill the same time every day without fail. most women do not take it right, or their bodies dont react right to it. Thus the effectiveness is actuality is reduced to 93%
