I quite enjoy the Waltzer at the fair, but it never seems to spin as fast as the other cars with more people in. Sometimes, it hardly spins at all. I'd be interested in learning the science behind it, so my friends and I can put it to (maybe-not-so) practical use. I'm guessing it probably hads something to do with weight disrubution, but after that I don't really know. Anybody like to educate me in the ways of the Waltzer?

Depending on the type of waltzer, it is best to put the weight evenly, If there is two of you then sit at either end,
Also helps if you smile at the gaff lad :-))

the less people in the car the more it will spin. i.e less weight. If you move to the bit of the car that is on the outside and put your hands in the air or lean towards the way you are spinning.
paying the guy an extra pound to spin you as you go round usually works better though

Sit as close to the centre of the car as possible and you will spin faster try it on an office chair get somebody to spin you then stretch your feet out and you will slow down bring them in and you will speed up.

Lean in to the way the car is spinning and then back the other way. If you can't be bothered with that ask the fella who mans the ride to keep spinning you.

lean back in your seat & lean in to the spin. i love the waltzers yippeeeeeeeeeee the louder you scream the faster you go!!!!!

Sit in the centre and curl up into a tiny little ball. Alternatively, wear a short skirt and the guy will spin you more.

stick you leg out, or get a mate on a moped to pull you round really fast, so fast that you fly out of the car altogether. I saw this on the news, some kids actually did this with a roundabout. Dangerous, but effective.

find as many large people as you can, get the dodgy geezer who runs the ride to spin you at the right point, if you scream loads they'll do it, and lean backwards into the seat
