Steve-O was one of a kind. Many have tryed to imitate him, but none have come even close. My prayers are with his wife and kids.
Steve Irwin probably did more to educate people about wild animals, their habitat loss and conservation issues than anyone ever before. He will be greatly missed by millions all over the world. I heard him say that God gave him his talent for working with animals. The crocs in heaven had better mind what they do now! I'll be seeing ya mate!

It was a terrible shock to find out that Steve Irwin had passed away. My whole family knew pretty quickly about this tragedy.
Steve Irwin was only 44 when he died, and is survived by his wife and two young children. He poured every ounce of himself into his conservation and education efforts. Whether or not the rest of the world found him silly was no bother to him; all he cared about was spreading the message of care for animals, even the ones that we don't find so pretty like crocodiles.
In his lifetime he showed many people that there are creatures in this world that might seem like vicious beasts are simply another animal that is trying to survive. Even the sting ray that tragically took his life was simply attempting to defend itself, and Steve knew this better than anyone. He never would have begrudged this, and he passed away doing exactly what he loved doing: being with wildlife and teaching other people about its importance. I hope that in spite of the loss of his life, there is no loss of his message. Remember always to protect wildlife, practice conservation, and keep their habitats uninvaded and free. As long as this message survives, then his time on this earth will never truly be over, and will never be in vain.
We love you, Steve Irwin, and we'll miss you. Crikey...

He was great. He will be greatly missed. I loved his show. But not too long ago while watching a similar show with somebody getting too close to wild animals, I said somebody is going to get killed doing this one day, it's a matter of time. And unfortunately, I was right. I really wish it hadn't been Steve Irwin. I don't think he did what he did to make a buck. I think he did what he did because he loved it and he loved the animals.

i can't accept the fact that steve irwin had died this monday. i mean, since i was a little kid, he had always been my idol. i once wanted to become a zoologist and save animals from extinction, all because of steve irwin. i never missed his show on tv and is never bored of his crazy antics and larger-than-life personality. but the thing i loved the most about him is that he's a loving father and husband and his enthusiasm for his work. his loss was very heartbraking to me because it has been my lifelong dream to meet him someday and shake his hands and tell him how much i love him and was moved by him and his work. Steve Irwin is one of a kind and can never, and i mean never be replaced. condolences to his family and freinds and may his legacy will continue to go on without him.. may he rest in peace..

I am still in shock about this, it brings tears to my eyes everytime I think of him.
Experts agree human deaths caused by stingrays are extremely rare and speculate the stingray may have felt trapped between the cameraman and the TV star.
"If ever he was going to go, we always said it was going to be the ocean," Stainton said. "On land he was agile, quick-thinking, quick-moving and the ocean puts another element there that you have no control over."
The network announced plans for a marathon screening of Irwin's work and a wildlife fund in his name.
Rarely has the world embraced an animal enthusiast and conservationist as they did Steve Irwin," Discovery Networks International President Dawn McCall said in a statement.

I was stunned. He was a young, healthy man and that alone makes it sad. But that he was such a force, more alive than most people will ever be, more happily married than most people are, a more passionate husband and father than most, that makes it a tragedy for his wife and the kids he adored. His son will not remember him. His celebrity aside, this is a human tragedy. Conincidentally, i was reading Insights by Sylvia Brown right before i learned of his death and it comforted me. He is on the Other Side, he has gone Home. Each of us leave Home and visit Earth from time to time to learn a lesson for spiritual growth. Before we ever leave Home for Earth we chart our Earthly life and this is what Steve charted for himself before he left Home. Now, he's gone back and he is currently doing what he loves on the Other Side, namely, hunting crocodiles. Someday when Terri and the kids return Home, they will be together again. I find that extremely comforting and i hope you will as well.

He will be Greatly missed, not only for his t.v. programs, But for all the things he did for wildlife in his own personal life. He was a very good man for his contributions to educate and show, First hand that people and animals can co-exist with one another. But you know he died doing what his passion was, That in itself is almost comforting to all that got to know him. I pray for his family and their loss of a loving husband and father, This is a very sad occasion.
