what are you to expect on your first visit to see a doctor once you know your pregnant? is it just like a gynecological exam?

Yep. She'll also go over dates...last period, etc. She'll give you vitamins, etc. Then, it'lll just be check ups for a while until you near full term...then they'll be getting up there every visit. Time to lose your modesty. Congrats, anyway!

You will need to know the first day of your last period so that a due date can be calculated. You will have a gyn. exam and maybe an ultrasound to check for a heartbeat (this will depend on how far along you are at your first appt.). You will probably get a bag of goodies from the doctor (coupons, pregnancy book, etc...) and you will schedule your next appt.

The goal of this visit is to verify your pregnancy. You'll be sent for a blood test. Depends on how along you are, they may do an ultrasound as well.
Aside from that, they take your height, weight, blood pressure, urine sample, tell you to take prenatal vitamins, and that's it. It's not a gyno exam.

Ok well on my first vist my dr doenst to checks he does period questions and gives vitamins and does ultra sound. ANd i think the would push on my stomach to see if it was doing what it is suppost to nothing importan really happens till you are like 10 or 12 weeks. Good luck though.

you will be asked the date of the first day of your last period. Also they will give you some do's & don'ts, the dr will touch your tummy and/or feel your cervix, and depending on the dr and how far are you, have you take an ultrasound. Also you will get vitamin prescription, and will answer all your questions.

He'll do a pap smear and answer all questions you have. Depending on when you have your first visit, he will probably listen for the heartbeat.

alot of personal questions (drug use, alcohol abuse, etc) and yes, like a yearly checkup with your gyn
