A Yahoo search for "himalayan balsam" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 28,000 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

I have just spent all morning clearing this stuff at work from a patch and got loads more to do,it is pretty but it is a nightmare when it takes over" best to rip it out before it sets seed " takes a while to control it even then.

I've read that it's highly invasive, but haven't experienced it myself, and only seen it growing wild a few times. It's a pretty looking plant, but I think the seeds are good at hurling themselves away from the mother plant pretty effectively! It's supposed to be taking over in certain places, in waterways I think it's quite invasive.
