Wha!? *scratches head*
Somehow, I agree with you. A brain surgeon can work on the brain on a single day, compared to building a house that could take weeks, months, and even a year -- depending on the size of the structure.
However, the level of concentration (or focus) is greater in performing a brain surgery as the task is rather sensitive in every angle; unlike in building construction, when the pipe fits you just stick them together and presto!

I am mostly going to have a rant at those who say there is very little training involved in building a house! Lets take it to the first stage of building a house, the plans. An architecture degree takes 7 years at university, a medical degree takes only 5. One might then argue that to then qualify as a brain surgeon you would need many years of further training, this is however also the case with architects, an architect just out of Uni would not be commissioned to oversee the construction of a large public building for example! Also brain surgeons are expected to occasionally make a mistake and, yes, people die because of it. If on the other hand a building collapses it could kill hundreds of people in one go.
Having said all this, however, architects can take their time and make sure that the job is done correctly where as Brain surgeons have a very limited time in very difficult conditions. All things considered it all matters where your training lies how difficult a job is.

No, I don't agree at all. A building contractor uses a crew. The foundation is laid, then the framing crew does their thing, the roofers, electricians, plumbers, finishing crew, painters, and the bricklayers.
A brain surgeon (not surgon) takes years to learn to do his job. Do you have any idea how many different parts of the brain there are? Or what every piece of the brain controls? How the slightest mistake can damage or kill a person? That's why it takes a surgeon so many years of training. I hope this helps.

No...when a builder gets bored he can bugger off home or to the pub. A brain surgeon, once started on an operation has to stay til the end, which is no mean feat if the op lasts 14 hours.

No, I don't agree and here is why:
They don't make you do 8-12 years of schooling to build a house. You can start tomorrow, or at it's most difficult your jurisdiction's building and planning division will make you take a multiple choice test.
Of all the people in construction that I've met I would guess that less than 15% of them could even qualify to get in a university.
Sure, there is more lifting involved...

Obviously you don't know how to get a house built.First pick out the style and plans to go by, then Stock up Bar, no drinks till job is done. Call on friends with various talents and their friends. Buy the material, of course, and token pay. And party after. House done. Never do in reverse or you might live on 1313 mocking bird lane. Brain surgeon on the other hand before they even get out of school you could have built several houses. :-)
PS Since I'm from ky i RECON i've seen this work before. tee hee
