I agree - we have this situation in our society, it is called "recycle". With movies, music, and now cartoons, we have regressed. We are no longer original. Plus, what is worse is the all mighty buck seems to be the Art Director. What can studios do to make money fast by spending less money on quality and time. That is why our current cartoons lack depth, quality and lasting appeal.

When big business took over entertainment, it killed the passion and creativity that artist media such as cartoons had. I find that independent artists are the NEW voice. I recommend seaching online for animation and cartoons done by new/unknown/freelance artists and studios. Their storylines are better, the work is more fun and leaves a lasting impression.

Not me, I think that the majority of modern day cartoons are crap. As previously mentioned, Fairly Odd Parents is still good even though I'm in my 20s, however I still think back fondly of Ren and Stimpy, Samurai Pizza Cats and Top Cat.
Trouble is though that modern day cartoons must also include South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad and King of the Hill. These are all brilliant programs in general, regardless of catagorising them as cartoons or not!

If I had kids I wouldn't allow them to watch any kids TV, it's just a load of relentless drivel that for the most part is conceived primarily to take advantage of marketing tie-ins. The other problem with kids TV are the presenters, what's wrong with getting enthusiastic and intelligent adults to present educational and entertaining content, rather we have to suffer annoyingly clueless and uninformative 'cool' older sibling type late teenagers with hair-gel fetishes, blethering on about pop music and playstations. Anybody who saw David Mitchell on Turn Back Time with Dara O'Briain (BBC2) should know what I'm talking about.

I do. Not only that, but I find it very disturbing that anime has such a grip on the youth these days. Most of it is so incredibly retarded and lame, yet these young people become hopelessly immersed in it to the point of being brain-dead. For a clue what it might be doing to them, just check out their grammar. Pitiful.

depends on the cartoon but of course some of the cool ones are

chorlton and the wheelies
jamie and the magic torch
captain caveman
thundercats
scooby doo (with the bats) not scrappy doo cos he should be boiled alive in oil
battle of the planets
dangermouse

but for a new cartoon Pucca is cool and my daughter likes Winx club and W.I.T.C.H.
