We've had ours for a little over a year and I'm very satisfied. I've been using computers for 24 years and find it a good investment. It's like buying a new car, people have different tastes and preferences and next year's model is always around the corner with something "new and improved." But if you do research and know what you do and don't want and have a price range that you can afford and your purchase meets those needs, you made a good deal. There's always going to be someone who likes something else better and is quick to critique your purchase, but if you like it, that's what matters. E-Machines are well made systems but if you like to add a lot of components and tweak your computer system for customizing, then you might want to check out other computer systems. Ours came ready to go with Windows XP Home SP2 and many other software systems and Spy Sweeper and a long list of other extras that was affordable and good support with a product guarantee. From Best Buy. Hope this helped.
PS. "Cuite" is definitely a spammer and "computerbuddy" needs to realize not all consumers want to take the time and spend the money to get a motherboard and have a customized computer built from a tech geek. Some folks have other priorities in life.

I wouldn't buy one if I were you. Unless you just don't have the money or you don't ever plan on doing anything with it other than surfing the internet.
And be careful of the price. Most of the time it includes a service agreement with an ISP that you can't get out of for 1-2 years.

e-machines was purchased by Gateway. They are the 'entry level' version of a Gateway. Not the best components, but if you're only interested in casual surfing and no 'power' work, then they might be okay.

I've had mine for about four years, I'm happy with it. But you need to make sure it'll do what YOU want it to.
