The village

The population of a small, isolated countryside village believe that their alliance with the mythical creatures that inhabit the forest around them, is coming to an end. But is it just another thriller? I watched it for the second time, just to understand it better...

What an amazing movie! How deep a story can go to man's heart and mind? Discover all his fears and how fear itself works on us. How some people can create such stories that set us in mental prisons that we cannot escape easily even when the truth is revealed to us. The beast...the symbol of all fears that were installed to us from the day that we can remember ourselves. How can we not be afraid of those fears? What a great it is needed to overcome those fears and step out of the boundaries of the 'safe village' that they have chose for us? The 'elders'...those who know best...those who care about their people...those who feeds them with lies and fake stories... those that they think that they can stop evolution and hide the truth forever. No, change is inevitable, things must go on no matter what. The truth is higher than any man.

The story can be a great 'change management' case too! OK don't laugh, i'm not crazy (yet). For those who have seen it:
Mr Walker = CEO
the elders = the board
the villagers = staff
the towns = customers
the borders = organizational pride (remember IBM?)
the monsters = rumors
the read color = the signs of change
Lucius Hunt = a manager with new ideas
Noah = those who 'kill' any change
Ivy = managers that know that they have to change but they don't know how
the stabbing incident = the crisis that will bring change
