I absolutely fall about laughing at Billy Connolly! That man is a true comic genuis!
Lee Evans is pretty good too, he pulls the most ludicrous faces.
As a kid/teen in the 80s I used to laugh at Dave Allen - I used to watch him with my mum - she came from am Irish catholic descent family and his pope jokes used to make her laugh.
Someone who NEVER makes me laugh though is Jack Dee - I don't get whats funny about him at all!

The funniest man on TV used to be Eddie Murphy. Now, it's Chris Rock. However, everybody generally sucks - they're not as funny as they used to be, back in the day...

I agree completely with Billy Conolly, the man just can't NOT make me laugh. Peter Kay is his successor to my laughter button! I love his stand up and his shows. Lee Evans actually doesn't make me laugh much, not as consistently.
Whereas Jack Dee does make me laugh, he's very dry and sarcastic, which is like me. Probably why I get him!
Just goes to prove the best comedian is the one who makes most people laugh.
I used to watch Tommy Cooper with my dad, we would collapse in hysterics and my mum would sit stone faced. She said he wasn't funny at all.

I like most comedieans.. lee evans, jasper carrot, billy connoly and jack dee is cool (i'm a sarcastic sod like him).. I think Bill Baily is the best though, cause he's a mega super-duper musical improv genius! Also brings about valid points, and i'm a great believer in the saying "its funny cause its true!"

For visual humour on film - the classics like Buster Keaton and Chaplin - but my fav is Peter Sellers as Clouseau in the Pink Panther films - he could destroy almost anything in a funny way.
See what he does to a desk as a fake phone engineer, or to a vaccuum cleaner as a fake hotel room cleaner (eventually sucking up the parrot) - I defy you not to laugh at those.

Undoubtedly the funniest comedian was Eric Morecambe...he could make people laugh with a wiggle of his glasses and sometimes by doing nothing at all, a true comedy genius.
