My neighbor just informed me that one of "my" friends did donuts in his yard yesterday leaving ruts and destroying 3 pink flamingoes and that I should pay for damages.
I don't know who did it, so am I responcible?

If you don't know who did it, how do you know it was one of your friends? Your neighbor should have gotten thier tag and held them responsible. Now if you were having a party and some of your guests used your neighbors yard for overflow parking without thier permission then maybe you are a little responsible but otherwise, who knows who did the damage and why should you have to pay for something someone else did?

They cannot hold you financially responsible. Unless they have a name or can identify the culprit in another fashion all they can do is file a police report and then file with their insurance company for possible compensation. The person responsible for the damage would be held accountable, if it can be proved that they did it.

No you are not responsible for what your friends do. Don't pay them anything. They have to go after the person that actually did it. If they didn't see the person and get a license plate number or anything, they are out of luck.

NO you should not pay the bill. If he saw who did it, or it being done, then he should have gotten a license plate number, and called the cops. Now he is left with paying for it himself.

well, if you invited your friends over, you must ask them if one of them did it. If they did, it's them who are responsible to you, but you are responsible to your neighbour as they were your guests. If you can prove none of them did it or that it happened without your knowledge and consent, then the person who did it is responsible for loss or damage.

no, not at all, if it was your friends that did this then they should pay, but your neighbor would have tp prove who did it.
