Because Mario and all of the other characters that fall under him like Wario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, etc are owned by Nintendo and nobody else can use them. Exactly why you'll never see HALO on Nintendo, because HALO is Microsoft. By a DS or a Wii

because nintendo owns mario. Sonic and sega sold out that is why he is on other gaming systems. The only way it would ever happen is if nintendo ended up not making consoles anymore. Then xbox or playstation would have to buy the rights to him (Big money)
