Both have a huge and passionate fan base that support them home and away so they would make themselves heard at every ground in England. With their present teams both would struggle but then again they wouldn't try to compete with the present teams. Lets face it very few teams in England could compete with them if it were not for the Sky money so as soon as that became available plus the other sponsorships they would attract then they would be very, very competitive. English fans tend to under estimate just how big theses clubs are because of the sorry state of Scottish football in general but both are sleeping giants.

of course Celtic and rangers could handle the English premier league .am not saying they would win it straight away but with the TV money and bigger sponsor money after a couple of seasons with the fan base that both teams have we would be up there competing for the championship. which would probably make the game in England more interesting as right now we all know who is going to win the English premier league Chelsea they only have a one horse race now the competition down there is for second place .which is what it used to be like up here.the smaller teams in the english leauge will never let it happen anyway because they know that both celtic and rangers are much to big for them .as for the people who say that celtic or rangers could not handle the premier league what was the score when celtic played the mighty blackburn in the uafa cup oh and liverpool i think we put them both out the last time we played them .

As a Hearts supporter, I can quite understand why you would the Old Firm (Now Wobbly) to bugger off, but..
Nahh, seriously though. It'd devastate the SPL and the FA Premiership can do without them, it's interesting enough as it is. Would it not be a better idea to combine some other minor national leagues into one, and leave the English alone? I'd love if we would have a regular Sunday with matches such as Glasgow Rangers - Sporting Braga, Ajax - Shelbourne, Göteborg - Inverness and Celtic - Standard Liège.

i'm uncertain if i could welcome it, it would desire to break our identity, even with the reality that it could be stable beating english communities a week and basically enjoying Rangers 2 two times in a league season. we would stay to tell the story the 1st couple of years and with the help of roughly 365 days 4 Celtic could be taking Champions League places off the likes of Liverpool. with the help of 365 days 5 celtic could be prevailing the league, Rangers could probably be complicated for actual 6. we would be taking the vast time far off from English golf equipment each and every 365 days and for that reason on my own it is going to in no way ensue in case you dont think of Celtic and Rangers are vast golf equipment then you definitely dont have a clue what your speaking approximately! I dont understand what group you help yet i will say for particular that they dont have supporters golf equipment in as many places as celtic do! I dont have a difficulty with that, soccer isnt just about having sufficient money to undertaking for the Champions League, even with the reality that we've been sufficiently vast to defeat many of the winners of modern-day years! I look to remember Celtic prevailing 2-0 at Anfield on our thank you to the uefa cup very final 5 years in the past.... i could say we do extra suited than we would desire to constantly for this form of small u . s . a . with little television money.. I do agree Liverpool probably do have particularly extra supporters golf equipment and are between the easily vast golf equipment in England yet no others come close to celtic different than in keeping with risk guy u yet its not all approximately money and procuring champions leagues

rangers and celtic are big clubs but it's so unfortunate for us football fan because they are not allowed to compete in the english premier league.
other english club who opposed their participation are just worried because they knew rangers anc celtic are too strong for them but from my opinion although they are strong athletically and financially they still have to take their time to compete with the likes of chelsea, arsenal, man utd and liverpool.
i will just put them with the team like spurs, bolton, west ham and other last champions league slot contenders.
scottish league is very very boring and if both team can make it to the premiership it will be the most exciting than ever. just imagine chelsea v rangers at the ibrox. the atmosphere will sure be great!!
hearts emerged as dark horse last 2 season but not consistent enough.

it would maybe take a few seasons to establish themselves, theres a BIG difference in the amount of money the old firm make from tv and the amount premiership teams make.8 out of 10 times any of the old firm play premiership teams they hold their own so they have no need to fear any of the teams down south!the english FA and the police down there wouldnt want to be associated with the bigotry that comes with them though, cant ever see it happening.

There is a tribalism about these two teams that the English don't want in their game. It's up to Scotlands football rulers to make the game more competitive.

That's 2 questions, and the answer to both is a resounding "NO".
They can barely cope in the SPL these days (this season so far at least!), and the English fans, and police wouldn't put up with all the assocaited crap that comes along with them.

It is not going to happen.
London is closer to Paris than Glasgow and you don't see those two city's countries swapping teams.
Rangers fans in particular would burn their scarves after two losses and a draw and Celtic's myriads of unemployeds would not be able to afford the public transport to games in England.
Big fishes, small pond.
