I looked, and it says that I have 192 MB of ram. (191.5 to be exact.)

Is there a way to, like,... make some more RAM or clear some memory up so I get more RAM? (Without actually having to buy more ram and installing it on the computer?)

The amount of RAM that came with my computer is 256MB....
This is my computer:

There can be many reasons for this :

1) If you're using on-board graphics, the Frame Buffer for the graphics processor might have used 64MB of RAM out from your total RAM. If this is the case, you could change the setting in BIOS - set the Frame Buffer to lower capacity such as 16 or 8MB

2)If you boot your PC and in the BIOS it only shows 192MB - and at that time you did have a stick of 64MB RAM - check those. It might be that the RAM is unseated properly, or even malfunctioned.

And yeah, if the program really need 256MB and you only have 192MB of physical RAM, i think its time to upgrade. If the program refuses to run that means even the virtual RAM wont help

I donot beleive it is possible.

Sometimes this RAM is share with video card (shared memory) and so the effective RAM will reduce. But the RAM on motherboard will not change unless somebody removed it.

Look at control panel --> system to know how much RAM is there in your computer.

Right click on the task bar

click on task manager

On performance tab it shows the physical memory installed. Check if it was same what you purchased? If it is different then check with the company you purchased from as usually you will not be allowed to open the CPU and if the lock is intact with the seal.

depending on how old your computer is, and what type of environment that you are operating it in, it is possible that one of your RAM chips have quit working, or it may just be operating less effectively due to age. The best thing that you can do is take it to a repair shop and have a technician check it out, and find out what the problem is.
