Write in cursive. Also, dot your "I"s and cross your "T"s as you are writing the word, suppose to after.
Example:
[Don't Do It This Way] PERSISTENCE (dot "I", cross "T")
[Do It This Way] PERSI(dot "I")ST(cross "T")ENCE
Writing this way will be odd at first, but stick with it until it flows.

Heyy ... Well, some people naturally write faster than others, but if there's a few things you can do. You can, of course, use books and/or other programs/methods to become a faster writer, but I'm not sure how effective those means are. Of course, you should practice. First, concentrate on the speed. You may want to write one letter over and over again, such as 'a,' just like how most typing programs start out ... where you have to type up meaningless, random sequences, such as 'fff jjj ff jj f j' over and over again. But it gets imprinted in your mind, and you will find yourself improving with time. Later, once you think you have improved well enough on your speed, try to write neatly while still writing quickly. Another thing is, I often see people holding their pencils/pens strangely. Hold you pencil/pen lightly, while making sure you don't apply too much pressure to your index finger and/or thumb. Cradle it lightly in between you index finger and thumb, don't wrap it up within you hand; that can make writing painful and will slow you down. If you need more examples, look at the back of those disposable chopstick wrappers in most Chinese restaurants. Most show a diagram with a picture; the first step, which tells you to hold the first chopstick as you would a pencil, is the proper way to hold your writing tool.

1. Understand your topic: If it is an essay question, what or why are they asking it. If you are writing for pleasure; what are your trying to express and why?
2. Remeber every peice of writing has to have a begining, middle, and end. Make a frame, 5 parts, Intro, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, conclusion.
3. Brain storm on phrases, articles, pictures, people, or quotes that make your brain turn out good thinking. Put it all out on in one chunk.
4. Move those brain storm chunks into the appropriate areas of your frame. the Intro and conclusion get done last.
5. Plan some paragraphs:
For a School type paper: section 1 is pro, 2 is con, 3 is bits of both reconsiled towards the truth.
For joy of writing section 1 is background, section 2, is climax, section 3 is tie up loose ends.
6. Fill in your paragraphs with writing
7. Now you know what your paper/ writing is about so introduce and conclude it.

Here what you can do;
1- first try writing letters only ( practice writing an A using 2-5 pages for each letter
2- then write small words containing 2 -3 letters for 2 -5 pages
3- then go on for more letters for each word for 2- 5 pages at least
4-then write small sentences 2 -5 pages then go on for the best by writing paragraphs.
and finally listen to a radio or a tape then practice writing after it see your speed will be totally different and fast , I wish a very good speedy writing.

The computer age is responsible for this. We have forgotten the beautifull art of writing. I think you spend too much time with your computer. There is only one solution for this problem. Leave your computer for somedays, maybe weeks or months and write letters to your friends and to others instead of e-mails. If you are a college or a high school student, then practise all your studies with a pen and paper, instead just reading books. You can also develop a hobby of writing stories or essays which might help you increase your writing speed.

if only you are to read it you could miss out all the vowel sounds and practise writing repetitive parts of words such as ing with just a straight line across and down like a 90 degree anglebut you can invent your own representative marks for such endings and also suffixes rather like a kind of personalised shorthand.
If it's for others to read it's more difficult, however in theory if you write smaller it should be quicker, as it must take longer to write larger, because there is more ground to cover.

If you really want to amp up your speed as fast as possible (which will still be slow, mind you), just go cold turkey. Basically act as if you are left handed, or even pretend that you broke your right hand. That means do as many things as possible with your left hand. It'll build up a lot of strength fast, and you'll be using muscles in your left hand that you never knew you had. (No joke) A more practical approach is to go through the day right-handed, using your left hand whenever you can, but during the night, go left-handed completely. It's not as effective as going cold turkey, but it's pretty effective. You might never be able to write as fast with your left as your right, but you can get really close.

The "practice" recommendations are the best I've seen among the answers you've been given so far, but may I make a recommendation. Please don't forget writing style or legibility. So many people can "write", but not legibly, or barely so, such that the writer needs to be standing nearby to clarify for the reader what many words actually are. Practice quality foremost, and with continual practice, speed will come naturally, as it does with typing. God Bless you.
