i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Steve Irwin was a very brave young man who liked to live his life on the edge. I sometimes thought perhaps to close and I feel very sad at his passing especially to be caught by a Stingray. I send my condolences to Mrs Irwin and Steve's family I hope you are left alone to grieve and may the dear lord give you strength UK

Its a brilliant question. Here is a man who obviously didnt want to die but whose passion for crocs lead him to take enormous risks with one of this planets oldest top preditors. Even in his own mind he must have considered the risks he was taking would catch up with him eventually. He even commented himself, which vindicated his acceptance of the risks he took with crocs. Its a tragedy he died but who knows what makes humans push the boundaries of exploration to the point of risking their lives. All I can say is that his work gave everyone a better understanding of the behaviour of these dangerous animals. So yes its ironic that such a placid and less threatning species killed him. Dont worry, there are plenty more nutters to take his place.

undeniable and organic lack of expertise. i became in no way a extensive Steve Irwin fan, and that i became additionally appalled whilst he had his toddler with him on a similar time as teasing the crocodile. although, he does not be satisfied that folk try to avenge his death with the help of harming and killing the form of animal which killed him. He constantly knew he became in "their" territory and that i've got faith particular that he found out he might desire to very probably die sometime doing the artwork he did. i contemplate whether he had worn some thing like a bullet-evidence vest, could he have survived this occasion? in any case, hindsight is often too previous due. I additionally think of he have been given too cocky and became transforming into extra of a showman than a conservationist, as time went on.

No, I don't think this is even a question worth discussing to be frank with you..

WHAT IS AN INSULT TO HIS LIFES WORK IS EVERYONE SAYING NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT HIM AND HIS FAMILY!!!

No, He loved ALL wildlife, it's sad for him to go this way, yet it would be sad for him to go anyway, Especially since he was such a great happy guy, and has two kids... it's very sad,
But there are positives that will and are slowly emerging, People are starting to take conservation & the work he did for animals seriously !!
God bless your soul steve xx

No, life is about irony. Think about it. A great warrior can be brought down by a mosquito. A human being greatest threat comes form an organism he can't see with the naked eye. Usually, death comes form something unexpected.

Everyone would be going "Aha! I knew he got it coming!" if he was killed by crocodile.

May you rest in peace Steve.

The poor bloke didnt have a say in the matter, once they stingray attacked that was it, game over. Does it matter how the guy died? just be grateful he didnt suffer and was obviously well loved by those around him

firstly, i agree with the others- bit of a strange question yet i u drstand what you mean. that was the sad thing about his death -after handling so many poisonous animals successfully- he gets killed by a sting ray. it ws just so misfortunate as it would not have been fatal, but sadly it went straight through his heart. you can't decide your death and so u hav no choice. it's not an insult as i guess he died doing what he loved.

Certainly he would have been surprised as he was quoted as saying he knew it would be a croc that got him in the end.

He was almost acknowledging that he respected the croc that much it would win one in the end.

So in your mind he would have rather been eaten by a Crock?

This might be a shock to you, BUT HE DIDN'T WANT TO DIE! He did not die the way he would have wanted! HE DIDN'T WANT TO DIE!

He would have rather become an arthritic old man, sitting on the front porch of his Australia Zoo house, watching his son and daughter wrestling Crocks, wishing he could join them.
