Upon introduction of the topic, most doctors will recommend that you wait till you're at least 35 and have had at least one child.
Always remember that sterilization is considered permanent - this is why it is not recommended for anyone who may decide later on to have another baby. Think long & hard on this before going forward with the procedure.

I am not sure of any set age. I was 22 and had just had my second child when I had mine done. All my doctor did was have me think about it to be sure that is what I wanted. Just remember it is permanent, and in Oklahoma the cost for a reversal is 10,000 and then I was told that there is only a 50% chance of conception with fertility drugs. My ob/gyn did not push the procedure, but he did give me lots of information. Then right before being put under anesthesia, they asked me one more time if I had changed my mind.

They take many things into consideration, there is no set age, and since it IS reversible, they will do it at your choice, but there may be some discussion and possibly counseling like sessions to make sure this decision is right and why you are deciding to do this. If you are already established with your doctor and he is aware of your history, situation etc, then there should be no trouble at all.

Nobody under the age of 21 is eligible to have their tubes tide. Then most doctors will not do it unless you already have children.

I want all those baby making items taken out of my body....I am 27 and don't plan on having children....I know most doctors won't touch me to do something like that because I don't have children.

It is nice how someone else really has control over the decisions I make...haha freedom is a joke!

18 is the age of consent for any clinical technique. notwithstanding, you've were given a complicated time convincing a healthcare specialist to do the technique. they prefer to attend until eventually you've had a minimum of two little ones or are somewhat older. there is not any complicated and quickly rule that prohibits them from doing the technique, mutually with you need to have little ones or should be a particular age. Please observe that is an rather complicated action to be undone.

Doctors usually do not RECOMMEND this procedure--you go to them and explain that you want it done, and that you are SURE that you do not want any more children--or in some cases, someone may never want any children. The age varies greatly, but I think most Drs would hesitate to tie a woman's tubes if she is still in her early to mid 20's.

They don't recommend it, but if you're in your 20's and don't have children you may have a hard time finding a doctor that will do it.

My ob said I was too young at 24 and might change my mind. I'm 31 now and haven't changed my mine, but I can't afford it.

Just to claify something. It is reversible but it's not as easy as just saying the word. It's very difficult and probably very expensive just to "attempt" to reverse it. Men getting "fixed" is more reversible then women getting their tubes tide. In fact it's a quicker, easier, in and out procedure for a guy, not so easy for women.
