One Christmas Eve, my husband and I had the flu, real flu not just a cold...so badly that we could barely raise our arms. We were coping slowly and alternatively...one rests the other acts.

We hadnt finished wrapping half of our (2 very young) childrens presents and were at a total loss about what to do. We were feeling so heavy that we thought...what the hell lets have a drink too....to lighten our heavy, achy mood...install the x-mas cheer. After a couple of drinks we came up with the idea to trash the place and make it look like the elves did it.

So we pulled down a few streamers, half unwrapped a couple of presents and strew christmas paper around to make it look like "elves gone wild". Hubby wrote a note from Santa apologising for the chaos...saying that the elves were so excited by the presents he couldnt control them for a while, however they wont do it again because they see the error of their ways.

It just so happened that some of the presents we had accumulated during the year (I love garage sales and kids toys are so darned cheap!) that a couple of the books had drawings in them......so I said "oh the elves had been busy!".

My kids were in fits of giggles and so astonished and amazed that they got evidence of elves colouring in etc.....so yes we did get away with it. I 'fessed up years later....after Santa was no longer "real" for them. But they said it was the best x-mas they had in a way because the elves and Santa took on a new "reality" of being naughty and nice too.

This is really bad. I told my employer that I was having a hysterectomy so I could take off the necessary six week recovery time. I was having major surgery, but it was cosmetic.

No I did not get away with it, besides people guessing what I had done (NO PROOF ) i BECAME VERY ILL WITHIN A YEAR AND HAD TO REALLY HAVE A FULL BLOWN HYSTERECTOMY.

MORAL: I STILL LIE, I AM SURE, WE ALL DO. I JUST RY VERY HARD TO KEEP IT TO A MINIMUM & TELL ONLY LITTLE WHITE NECESSARY LIES THAT DO NOT HURT PEOPLE.

i AM CONVIENCED THAT IF YOU LIE AND SAY YOU ARE ASICK OR THAT YOUR CHILD IS SICK, OR THAT YOU HAD A DEATH IN THE FAMILY ETC. KARMA WILL BRING THAT AILMENT ON YOU

I LEARNED A HARD LESSON, BUT A VALUABLE ONE.

When I was working as an English teacher in a Catholic School I lied to a nun (the Mother Superior, at that). I told her I was sick with food poisoning but I was actually doing some serious partying in Berlin. And yes, I totally got away with it.

I remember that I lied about bieng sick alot when I was in elementary school.. I got away with it or a while, but then the teacher caught on.

I used to mark tissue paper with red ink and say my nose was bleeding, it looked so real I was sent to the nurse's office, but, then the nurse noticed I was using the same tissue and that I "kept bleeding" she figured it out quickly. She sent a note with me to my classroom teacher, the nurse then came later on to make sure i had given her the note and I lied and said " oh I forgot to give it to her" LOL I dont think she believed me.
