The best way to tackle is start one more addiction, Follow below step by step: 1.Never keep stock of gutkha's with you, whenever you feel you need, just go to the shop.
2.If you can chew Indian paan's that's the alternate for gutkha....
3.Start paan chewing instead of gutkha's
4.Within one or two days people will look into your eyes and you will come to know the reason automatically.....
5.You will stop paan chewing immediately......
Trying is not harmful......but making is difficult. Comethrough difficult you will find your way........ All the best.

Are you serious about throwing out the habbit?
Do you have the Guts and Mental strength to take up the challenge?
If yes
Step 1: Identify the occassions you take it frequently
Step2 : Start chewing Bubble Gum or Cardomom or any
Chewable during that time.
Step3 :Pay Rs 5/- as penelty when ever you consume it
Step4: Take short Goals 3 hours/5 Hours/ 1 day etc and
throw the habit
Step5:Attach the habit to a more sentimental issue

There is no absolute formula, it all depends on one's nature n personality. Yu can try couple things: -
1) Live demonstration of bad effects on human body
2) Yu can do some self study of yur teeth, shape of yur mouth, diet, some other clinical/physical changes yur facing.
3) How much yu lost yur charm among friends [Gals], yur carrear efefct etc
All these and many more are type of self counselling yu need. If yur caring, loveable, educated, logical and carrear oriented person - This will help yu.
And if all these fails, yu found yur will power is not enough, yu must consult doctors and take treatment.

Let me tell you a secret which I have practised myself.I was a compulsive smoker enjoying pan parag while smokingwith for over a decade.I gave up smoking and along with it panparag on a day 10years back and did not pick it up resolutely fought the temptation for a week. I am happy to tell you that the urge died down and I have successfully given up smoking& chewing panparag for my life.
