Artists, as kids, always do amazing things?

Question

What do great artists, as children, have in common?
Why are kids generally so into drawing? Do brilliant artists possess brilliant imaginations from the get-go?

Artists are born with the spatial ability to see and recreate what they saw. The adult artists have just never lost their connection to the great source of inspiration, the Universal Unconscious. Most adults are totally out of touch.

Kids are able to express themselves freely in every way.... drawing, singing, dancing, acting silly..... they are not yet concerned about what others think.

Children don't care or even realize that other people are judging their actions. It is when kids become aware that the things they do will be anylized by onlookers that they become self-conscious and self-judging. They then become critical of the things they create, their appearance and their voice.

If a child thinks him/herself to have below average ability to create art (or sing or dance... etc.) they will stop doing those things or save them for private expession.

I always was told that my art was exceptional so I continued to make it and through the encouragement of everyone around me became an accomplished painter. Yet, I still have a hard time singing and I'm working on being comfortable with my dancing ability.

It takes alot of work to regain the ability to epress ones self without concern for being judged by those around us. But I think, as we grow older, we do... and that is why we see so many seniors who are once again interested in expressing themselves in any way possible.

I remember thinking more openly and taking the time to observe different things as a child. as an adult, i just don't HAVE the time. My kids remind me, though.
