Depends on what color you painted it. (LOL, just kidding)
A baby's poop is generally close to the color of food you feed him or her. When they are on breast milk it is a yummy light brownish green color. I am not sure about formula though, my kids didn't have that until they were on solids already.
If it is dark green, like Christmas tree green, I'd call your pediatrician just to make sure it is normal for YOUR baby. All kids are different.
Is he having trouble passing it? is is chunky (yuck)? does he have excess gas? Colic (I am sooo soo sorry if this is the case)? How often does he go? ( should be once a day).
If he is breast fed, what did mom in in the last 6-12 hours? was it spinich or something?
If formula...get mom to breast feed...if she refuses, or it is too late, what kind of formula are you using? Tell all this to your pediatrician so he can help you best.
Good luck. Isn't being a parent fun?

You will see a rainbow of stool colors in your child. Normally shades of green and yellow, but when he's a little older and eating food.. the stool tends to take on the color of the food, from blackish (blueberries) to red ( strawberries and raspberries).. you should worry the most when the texture of it changes drastically or it's a very dark black ( could be blood ) otherwise, it's normal for it to have a green or yellow color at this age.

I dont know what the medical trm for it is, but yes it is normal. Sometimes it looks like tar or gooey melted rubber.. It changes from that to sort of a mustard with seasame seeds texture and color, but in all its normal. If you are still concerned ask your baby's doctor or your obgyn.

Is he taking iron drops or drinking iron fortified formula? Iron causes green stools perfectly normal!

Yep, totally normal for formula-fed baby; you'll see more of a yellow bm for breast-fed baby, but it can vary from day to day. I'd be concerned only if he's not having a bm or if it has blood in it.

i think it is. at that age, they will poop weird all the time. my wife and i would freak almost eveytime our baby pooped. almost everytime it'll be different. but just to be safe, watch it and compare it with other times he poops, otherwise just take him in for a check-up. never hurts to check on him, and you'll be more relaxed.
