Nanometers, that is 10E-9 meters, since this is the order of magnitude of atoms. The measure unit historically is Angstroms, that is 10E-8 cm = 10E-10 meters; but it is not a standard unit.

In America probably feet and inches. In the rest of the world, where we understand the advantage of decimal systems, we use nanometers.
